12 Baskets Food Collection at The Hangi Pit

Every Saturday, at 9 am at the Hangi Pit in Coomera, we distribute food to families in need and homeless individuals living in their vehicles.

This vital initiative would not be possible without the unwavering support of Aldi Stores across the Gold Coast. Their generous donations of fruits, vegetables, eggs, bread, and more have been instrumental in sustaining our mission.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers who kick-start the collection process at 6 am, gathering provisions from 15 Aldi Stores throughout the Gold Coast. By 8 am, they arrive at the Hangi Pit, unload the collected items, and diligently organize and pack food boxes for distribution to those in need.

In April 2023, we assisted 27 families, but we are elated to share that in January 2024, our efforts reached 120 families. The number of families who have registered with us increased to almost 300 families, just for the weekend food collection. This incredible growth is a testament to the compassion and commitment of our community.

We extend our gratitude to The Hangi Pit for generously allowing us to utilize their space, providing an ideal location for placing our food boxes. The convenience of the space enables families to easily drive through, allowing our dedicated volunteers to efficiently load the food boxes directly into their cars.

We express our gratitude to the Lord Jesus Christ for His mercy, kindness, and goodness, which have been evident in the success of our outreach efforts. All glory belongs to Christ alone.
